Dawson school officials are proposing to lower the district’s property tax rate by just over 9 cents compared to last year.
The school board on Thursday voted to propose a 2019-2020 tax rate of 1.06835 per $100 worth of property value, according to Superintendent Layne Sheets.
That is down from last year’s rate of $1.17.
The board has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the school’s proposed budget and tax rate for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the school in Welch, according to notice in today’s edition of the Press-Reporter.
