Dawson school officials received good news about the district’s finances during the school board’s regular meeting on Monday evening at Welch.
That came from the financial audit for the 2019-2020 fiscal year, as presented by Kevin Telchik with the Lamesa accounting firm of Stephens, Stephens and Telchik.
Superintendent Layne Sheets said the audit shows the district was able to put money into its fund balance this year.
“This speaks to the stability of the school district moving forward,” Sheets told the Press-Reporter. “We have almost doubled our fund balance in the past two years.”
