Dawson County saw a bit of good news late this week regarding the COVID-19 outbreak here.
Only six new confirmed cases of the virus among local residents were reported by the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) on Friday.
That is one of the lowest single-day figures here in a number of weeks.
However, two more deaths of Dawson County residents are now being attributed to COVID-19, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS).
That puts the COVID-19 death count in Dawson County at 32 as of Friday, based on the latest information on the TDSHS website.
