Dawson County likely wil top the 1,000 mark in total confirmed COVID-19 cases sometime early this coming week. As of Friday, that tally stood at 976, according to information from the South Plains Public Health District. The county has been averaging more than 13 new confirmed COVID cases per day for the past four weeks. A total of 334 Dawson County residents currently have the virus, according to the latest update posted Friday on the health district’s website.
