The number of active COVID cases increased in Dawson County this past week but doubled across the entire five-county South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD).That’s according to a report issued Thursday by SPPHD Executive Director Zach Holbrooks.That report shows 35 active COVID cases among Dawson County residents, an increase from 28 the previous week but well below the 58 active cases reported here on Aug. 4.A total of 148 active cases were reported in the entire district, jumping from 73 the previous week.
