Active COVID-19 cases in Dawson County continue to increase.
A report issued Friday evening by Zach Holbrooks, executive director of the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD), shows Dawson County now has 30 active cases of the virus.
That is up from 20 active cases the previous Friday.
Sixteen new cases have been reported here in just the past week.
Across the five-county area served by SPPHD, active COVID cases have more than doubled in the past week, jumping from 97 the previous Friday to 239 this past Friday.
