The number of active COVID cases reported among Dawson County residents this past week jumped by nine compared to a little over a week earlier.Dawson County currently has 44 active COVID cases, according to an update sent out Friday evening by Zach Holbrooks, executive director of the South Plains Public Health District.The district had reported 35 active cases among local residents in its previous update issued on Aug. 18.Total active COVID cases across the five-county district, however, dropped from 148 the previous week to 110 on Friday of this past week.Active cases reported Friday in each of the other counties ...
