The number of active COVID-19 cases in Dawson County has hit its highest mark since the virus was first detected here in March.
With six new cases confirmed since late last week, the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) is now reporting 47 active cases of COVID-19 in Dawson County.
That is two more than the total number of cases reported here in an almost three-month period during the early stages of outbreak.
