Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court will try again on Monday to formally adopt a new tax rate for the county’s 2021 fiscal year.
A vote on the tax rate is included on the agenda for court’s regular meeting at 4 p.m. in the county courtroom at the courthouse.
Members of the court voted 3-0 this past Tuesday to adopt a new tax rate totaling 97.0929 cents per $100 worth of property.
However, the following day County Judge Foy O’Brien learned that state law requires at least four members of the commissioners court be present when voting on a tax rate.
