Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court agreed Tuesday to seek a grant of up to $90,000 from the USDA to fund improvements to the courthouse. County Treasurer Terri Stahl said the application period is now open for USDA grants. Last year the county received a grant that was used to purchase two vehicles for the sheriff’s department. County Judge Foy O’Brien and other county officials said a number of improvements are needed at the courthouse that could potentially be accomplished with grant revenue.
