The Dawson County Jail remains in compliance with state standards following a recent annual inspection by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, according to Sheriff Matt Hogg.
An inspector with the commission spent about four hours at the jail during the unannounced inspection on May 22, Hogg said.
County officials have since been notified in writing that the jail is in compliance with Texas’ minimum jail standards.
The jail failed an inspection in June of last year. All but one of the issues discovered at that time were corrected immediately.
