It took the Dawson County Commissioners Court fewer than five minutes to handle the one item on their agenda during a special called meeting this past Thursday.
The court accepted a bid from First United Bank to continue serving as the county’s financial depository for another four-year period.
First United Bank was the only bidder for the contract. County officials said the bank’s offer appeared similar to the previous depository contract with the county but the interest rate earned on deposits dropped slightly, as expected.
