With four cases being confirmed this past Wednesday and two more on Thursday, Dawson County now has a total 20 cases of COVID-19.
That was the number as of late Friday afternoon. It includes 10 cases that remain active at this time, Mayor Josh Stevens said Thursday.
The majority of the most recent cases involve local residents who work at the Preston E. Smith state prison unit here, Stevens said.
