County Judge Foy O’Brien on Tuesday told members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court that he has contacted an attorney to assist the county in handling a request for a tax abatement.Giving the court an update during their regular meeting Tuesday, O’Brien said the attorney he has talked to is familiar with handling such requests and developing county policies.O’Brien is waiting for the attorney to provide a contract for working with county officials here.The commissioners court last month gave O’Brien authority to hire an attorney specializing in abatements.That action came in response to a request submitted to the county for ...
