The courthouse and all other Dawson County offices are now closed to regular walk-in traffic by the public.
County Judge Foy O’Brien said the action was taken this week as a result of public health concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus.
Offices will remain staffed and accessible by phone, however, during shortened hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday.
“We’re just handling all essential duties right now,” O’Brien said Friday. Even certain court hearings, such as probates and guardianships, along with normal docket calls have been put on hold at this time.
