Dawson County’s unemployment rate for May remained below 4 percent for the third month in a row, according to figures released by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
But, for the first five months of this year, the county’s average unemployment rate has been 3.9 percent.
For May, the county had an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent. The TWC reported that 4,612 people were in the workforce with 164 classified as unemployed.
That was the highest number of people in the county’s workforce for this year and next to the lowest number of unemployed, according to monthly numbers from the TWC.
