Lamesa Mayor Josh Stevens said Friday he already is receiving inquiries into the city manager’s position being vacated by Shawna Burkhart. Council members met in a special called session on Thursday evening and accepted the 30-day notice of resignation submitted by Burkhart, who has served as city manager here since June of 2014. Burkhart announced this past Monday that she is leaving to become city manager at Bay City, with that job starting on March 16.
