Lamesa Chief of Police Josh Peterson presented city council members Tuesday with the departments’ annual racial profiling report detailing traffic stops, along with the ethnicity and genders of drivers contacted.
The report, sent off to the state, is an annual accounting law enforcement officials are required to do each year. It covers the 2020 calendar year.
For Peterson, he does not fully know about the data from previous years because he took over the job early last summer.
