SNYDER – The Snyder City Council voted 4-1 to reject a fence ordinance on the second reading and ordered the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) to include only safety-related measures in the ordinance.
The council voted 4-2 last month to approve the ordinance, which was unanimously approved for recommendation to the city council by the P&Z.
The ordinance would have established rules for fence height, materials and permitting process, among other details. It also included safety-based regulations, such as prohibiting blind corners.
