Lamesa City Council members got closer to finalizing the city’s 2022-2023 budget during their fourth workshop session Tuesday night.They seemed content with the numbers, along with plans to go out for a loan to pay for expanding the current landfill, and dropping the proposed tax rate.They also expect to have $23,102 in surplus funds and provide law enforcement officers with body armor.The council set the proposed property tax rate at 79.9070 cents per $100 valuation at their last budget meeting.
