It looks like Dawson County, and eventually the Lamesa school district as well, will be on the hook for a water bill topping $5,000 for a local facility where local youth feed and raise livestock.
Much of the discussion during a 20-minute meeting by the Lamesa City Councili on Tuesday evening focused on the water bill resulting from a leak at the John Farris Agriculture Facility just east of town.
That facility is used by local 4-H and FFA members for raising livestock for exhibition in shows here and across the state.
