A story in Wednesday’s edition of the Press-Reporter about a potential city tax abatement being considered for the Vista Park housing development incorrectly stated the project qualifies for up to $7 million in tax abatements covering a fiveyear period.
It should have stated that, for projects over $7 million in value, a developer may qualify for a 100 percent tax abatement for a specified period of time. The actual amount of taxes abated would be only a small fraction of a property’s taxable value.
The Press-Reporter apologizes for the error and any problems it may have caused.
