Lamesa and Dawson County residents received a respite from the heat Wednesday and also something not seen in awhile - rain. Rainfall at the West Texas Mesonet site was recorded at 1.69 inches and there were still some light showers at mid-morning Wednesday. The low temperature Wednesday morning was 68 degrees with the high temperature forecast to stay in the mid to upper 80s.
