Only two of the four local governing entities holding elections for leadership positions in May have thus far had candidates file for their posts. The filing period opened Jan. 15 and will run through Feb. 14 for seats on the Lamesa City Council, Lamesa School Board, Dawson County Hospital District Board of Directors, and Mesa Underground Water-Conservation District Board of Directors.
