Dawson County is still on a roll while Lamesa experienced its first dip when it comes to their monthly sales tax rebates from the state comptroller’s office.The rebates represent local sales taxes collected by merchants and sent to the comptroller along with state sales tax revenue. The local tax revenue is then rebated monthly to the city, county or other entities for which it was collected.This month’s rebates represent purchases made in March.The county received $155,741 this month, an increase of almost 57 percent when compared to last May’s $99,208 rebate.
