Lamesa City Council members finished out the budget season for the 20242025 fiscal year.They ended their efforts Tuesday when they unanimously voted 6-0 on second reading on the proposed tax rate.Council member Fred Vera was absent from the meeting.The council had to decide how to split up the 68.5362-cents per $100 valuation.They opted not to designate any tax revenue to the city’s debt service account. The entire tax collections will go toward the city’s Maintenance and Operations fund. That fund pays for the city’s operational costs.The city’s fiscal year begins Sept. 30 and ends Oct. 1, 2025.
