BROWNFIELD - It is not uncommon to hear stories about residents all over Texas complaining about high energy bills after the winter storm. The storm left many without power and water, and for those who were lucky enough to have power to keep warm, a ridiculously high energy bill.
Brownfield City Manager Jeff Davis released a memo Feb. 24 touching on the topic. The memo states Brownfield is not a member of the Energy Reliability Council of Texas, one of the entities that operate and maintain the state’s electricity grid.
Brownfield is a member of Southwest Power Pool or SPP for short.
