Lamesa’s population dropped by 328 people from 2016 to 2018, according to the latest estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. Figures released last week put Lamesa’s estimated population as of July 1, 2018 at 9,042. That tally is the lowest this decade in the annual estimates adjusting from the 2010 Census that showed Lamesa with a population of 9,413.
