When residents experienced power outages, frozen water pipes and freezing temperatures, several churches stepped up Tuesday to help meet the need.
Cornerstone Fellowship and the First Methodist Church opened their doors Tuesday to anyone needing a meal, hot coffee, drinking water or a warm jacket or blanket.
“We have a lot of people that are without power for several days. Help people warm up, charge their phones, get a hot meal,” said Cornerstone Fellowship pastor Daniel Reese.
Cornerstone church volunteers cooked spaghetti and delivered it to homebound residents.
