Craig Cowan, DDS, places a chicken fried steak on his plate at Friday evening’s traditional kickoff event for Lamesa’s Original Chicken Fried Steak Festival and Crossroads Balloon Rally. The dinner is sponsored by the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce and tickets are sold exclusively by the Chamber. Sandra Adams, president of the Chamber, said over 500 tickets were sold for this year’s meal.
