The COVID-19 pandemic, which has curtailed numerous other events, for the past 10 months, has now caused the annual banquet of the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce to be postponed.
“We’re not sure yet when it will be re-scheduled,” said Karen Mize, Chamber president.
She noted that COVID-19 restrictions have closed the city’s Forrest Park Community center, where the banquet normally is held.
City officials closed the community center late last year amid concerns of the virus spreading. The center is usually open to be rented by the public for business meetings and social events such as the Chamber banquet.
