General plans for a program to help develop future leaders for Lamesa were given initial approval on Monday by directors of the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce.
An outline of the plan to create a Young Professionals group was presented to the board by Sean Overeynder, executive director of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project.
“It would be a group of young folks in the community that are next in line to become leaders and who want to get more immersed in community activities,” Overeynder said.
