Planning for the Independence Day celebration and other upcoming activities is underway at the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce, according to Chamber President Sandra Adams. “We’ve got a lot of things planned for July 4th,” Adams said on Monday during the monthly meeting of the Chamber’s board of directors. The annual celebration includes a parade, events in Forrest Park throughout the day, and an evening fireworks display. Joining the parade this year will be a go-kart demonstration group from the South Plains Shrine Club in Lubbock. “It’s a really fun thing,” Adams said.
