Opting not to compete against vendors in the park, the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce will not be hosting a meal during this year’s Chicken Fried Steak Festival. Chamber of Commerce President Karen Mize said Friday the organization decided to cancel the meal after learning that vendors will have chicken fried steaks available for sale at the festival. Hosted by the City of Lamesa and the Chamber, Lamesa’s 10th annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival is scheduled for April 20-26 at Forrest Park.
