With a $12 million budget, a lower tax rate and the need to save some dollars, Lamesa City Council members agreed Tuesday to look into possibly going elsewhere for road and park maintenance services during the upcoming new budget year The council voted to issue a request for proposals for handling grass and weed issues in city parks and for doing sealcoating and extensive repairs to city streets. Council members first discussed outsourcing sealcoating work from the streets department and mowing duties from the parks department last week while finalizing the 2020-2021 budget. That new budget begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept.
