In a special meeting Wednesday, Lamesa school board members opted to forego the closed door executive session meeting to determine board officeholders. Instead they agreed to stick with the status quo.They decided to keep Board President Rebecca Gonzales as board president for a third year. They also agreed for April Martinez to remain the board’s vicepresident and Ernest Ogeda to stay as board secretary.The school board reorganizes the three offices annually at the conclusion of the spring elections.During the meeting, the board canvassed the May 6 election results.
