About 250 toys and 55 coats were collected during the holiday toy and coat drive hosted on Dec. 8 by Lamesa’s Nuestro Car Club. Those items will be distributed through the local Lights of Love organization to children of needy families. “The number went down in toys but we doubled in coats,” said club member Jaime Galindo. “We were happy with it, and so was the Lights of Love.” Galindo expressed appreciation to everyone who donated to the effort.
