After months of speculation about the possibility of a Burke’s Outlet store coming to Lamesa, action Monday by local economic development officials appears to be confirmation.Directors of the Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP) approved a facade improvement grant of $25,019 for a Burke’s Outlet store at 2308 Lubbock Hwy.That reportedly is where the Bealls store in the Pioneer Square Shopping Center was located before closing its doors.The LEAP grant will cover half of the cost of the total facade improvements planned at the location by Burkes Outlet.LEAP officials apparently have been working with Burkes for months to help facilitate opening ...
