Lamesa City Council members expressed positive interest in a proposed project to install improved lighting along two state highways, but took no action in regard to that item this past Tuesday to allow time to gather more information. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to replace all existing lighting with improved lighting along U.S. Highway 180 from Weaver Road to U.S. Highway 87 and along State Highway 137 from U.S. Highway 180 to South 15th Street.
