It’s called ballot harvesting. It’s defined as an unauthorized person having anything to do with someone else’s application for a ballot by mail or the ballot itself.
It’s illegal in some states, including Texas, while legal in other states.
Local attorney Carter Schildknecht, a retired district judge, went before Lamesa Independent School District (LISD) board members last Thursday with her suspicions that such practices may have happened in the May 1 school board election.
