‘Atheist’ group accuses court of taking unlawful action
ANDREWS – A national nonprofit group opposed to mingling state and church has accused the commissioners court of unlawful action concerning its support of a high school senior installing four prayer boxes at county parks.
Andrews County Judge Charlie Falcon received a letter last month from the Freedom from Religion Foundation requesting minutes, video and any records of the court’s Aug. 19 meeting in which commissioners approved a request from Andrews High student John Garcia to set up prayer boxes at several local parks and at the courthouse.
