City sales tax rate to increase
SEMINOLE – A tax increase is about to take place in Seminole. However, unlike most, this is one that will virtually go unnoticed to taxpayers. A .5-percent increase in the city’s local option sales tax is set to go into effect on April 1 after getting approval from voters in November’s general election. The tax will raise the area’s local option to 2 percent and increase the overall sales tax in Seminole to 8.25 percent.
