Improvements to Highway 180 included in TxDOT area plans
SEMINOLE – According to the Texas Department of Transportation’s Lubbock District, Seminole and Gaines County will lose its last remaining two-lane major artery within the next four years.
A plan is underway to add lanes and widen the Lamesa Highway (U.S. 180 E) from the Seminole city limits to the Dawson County line. Bidding for the $25-million project is tentatively set to be let in October, 2020.
The project is the most ambitious of the Lubbock District’s projected $68.3-million highway budget for FY 2021.
