Although overdue, the financial audit presented Tuesday to the Dawson County Commissioners Court for the 2019 fiscal year contained no big surprises.
In fact, Melvin Eaker with the Lubbock accounting firm of Gary, Bowers & Miller complimented county officials on their fiscal responsibility.
“The county does a good job at watching your expenses and watching how you spend taxpayer dollars,” Eaker said as part of his presentation.
The audit showed the county’s actual revenue for the 2019 fiscal year, at just over $7.6 million, exceeded the budgeted amount by almost $191,000.
