The first COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Dawson County Health Department (DCHD) brought in 280 people Monday to get the first free dose of the Moderna vaccine. The South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD), which oversees DCHD and three other clinics, received 300 doses last week from the state. “It went well,” said SPPHD executive director Zach Holbrooks about DCHD’s first COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Lamesa. “Our goal was 300 and we were close to our goal.” Personnel worked from 9 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. vaccinating individuals.
