Lamesa-based West Texas Opportunities, Inc., which provides an array of services to residents across a 20-county area of west Texas, has been awarded more than $2.6 million in funding.
That money was included in about $76 million in transit funding approved by the Texas Transportation Commission during its June meeting.
The funds go to public transportation providers in rural, small urban, and large urban areas of the state. The money is used for operating costs such as service and maintenance of vehicles and facilities.
