A special fireworks here Thursday evening will mark the end of 2020 and welcome in the new year. The Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce’s first New Year’s Eve fireworks show blasts off at 11 p.m. at the rodeo grounds on S. Houston Ave., according to Chamber President Karen Mize. People can continue social distancing by either staying in their vehicles or bringing a blanket to sit outside to watch the 15-20 minute show.
