Dawson County’s confirmed COVID-19 case count is now up to seven.
Lamesa Mayor Josh Stevens made the announcement in a weekly Facebook live update on Friday afternoon from City Hall.
Local officials received word of the latest case on Friday morning, involving a female from Lamesa who is over age 50.
Stevens said that individual is now in quarantine.
With one death linked to the virus and one person having recovered and been cleared, Dawson County now has five active cases.
Dr. Michael Sprys, chief of staff at Medical Arts Hospital, said it is still “business as usual” at the hospital and clinic.
