In small West Texas towns, the marching band is a staple part of Friday night football. The same can be said for the Lamesa Golden Tornado Band. Director Sonia Carrion and the Golden Tornado Band have been hard at work since August preparing for fall competition. Due to the COVID-19 situation, however, their first competition for the semester did not look like years past. It was a virtual contest.
