Preparations for the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club’s festivities this coming Saturday evening are going great, director of Lamesa Boys and Girls Club Tammy Wyatt said. This year’s event will be held at the A&W Hogg Event Center (formerly the Lamesa Country Club), 2002 U.S. Highway 87, just southeast of Lamesa. The day’s events will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. The Gala formally will begin at 7 p.m. and will continue until 10 p.m. The club has some “great” silent auction items prepared for the Gala, Wyatt said, and the South Plain’s Jazz Band plans on performing at the event.
